Is what you do real?Yes, although lots of people think I look like a magician everything I do on stage is real and dangerous. During my shows I try my best to prove that the skills I am performing are real but many audience members either can't believe their eyes or choose not to. I have spent years learning the skills I perform so as they say, don't try this at home.
Does it hurt? For most of the things I do it either runs the risk of sever injury or causes great discomfort, often both. I have spent a lot of time training to do what I do and to minimise the risk of great personal injury. For many of the feats I perform, years of practice and performance has greatly modified my experience of pain, things which previously hurt no longer cause the same amount of discomfort.
How much do you cost?I do not have fixed costs. Each event is treated individually and costs are calculated specifically for that event depending on location, length and type of performance, date, etc.
The best way to find out costs is to get in touch. Do you have Public Liability Insurance?Yes, I am a member of equity which provides £10million PLI
How far in-advance should I book? There is no minimum or maximum time frame for booking. I can be booked years in advance or at the last minute.
How far will you travel?I am based in the South East of England but I travel internationally for shows.
Are your shows family friendly?Yes, though not all my acts are! I perform for all sorts of audiences and can tailor what I perform to the type of event and audience you have. I often find that it is the parents that are more squeamish and the children that are enthralled.
What do you need us to provide? This largely depends on what I'm being booked for and the size of the event. If performing contortion I will need somewhere warm and dry to warm-up in. Similarly if I'm performing sword swallowing or human pincushion then I will need somewhere to sterilise and prepare my props.
For shows I will need the audience to be able to clearly see and hear me. This means having a suitable height stage, amplification (microphone and PA) and lighting. I am very adaptable at performing in different spaces with different crowds but it is much easier to know in advance what is being provided. If I know in advance what is or isn't being provided than I can try and bring or source equipment myself or change what I am performing to give the best entertainment possible. How did you start doing this?Well, I originally started juggling when I was about 8 a few years later I became interested in contact juggling. My interest in circus grew and thanks to a mixture of some back problems requiring me to stretch and a chance encounter with a contortionist at Cambridge Community Circus my flexibility training started. As I stretched more and more I became interested in what else the body could do. Thus I researched techniques, skills and the human anatomy to discover what else the body could do.
